About Us
Ordinary people meeting an extraordinary Savior.

A note from our pastor
Welcome. We are glad God brought you here.
Whether this is your first Sabbath with us or you are making this congregation your church home, we are glad God has brought you here.
Since 1952, Hyde Park has been a place where ordinary people meet an extraordinary Savior. Our mission is simple and serious: to be the place where the Gospel transforms lives. Everything we do, from Sabbath School to our soup kitchen, exists to serve that mission.
Take your time looking around, and then take a next step. Introduce yourself, join a Sabbath School class, and ask how you can serve. We look forward to growing alongside you.
What we believe
Rooted in Scripture.
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as our only creed and hold 28 Fundamental Beliefs. Here are six that shape our life together.
1. The Holy Scriptures
The Bible is God's inspired Word and the standard by which all teaching and experience is tested.
2. One God
There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons.
3. Salvation in Jesus
Through Christ's life, death, and resurrection, God offers forgiveness and new life to all who believe.
4. The Sabbath
God's gift of rest from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, a weekly celebration of creation and redemption.
5. The Second Coming
Jesus is coming again, personally and visibly. That blessed hope shapes how we live today.
6. Whole-Person Living
We honor God as faithful stewards of our bodies, minds, time, and resources.
Our core values
Five values. One mission.
Together they spell A.R.E.A.S., and they shape how every ministry reaches souls for the kingdom of God.
Advancement
We move forward in God's name and in His power to make dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations”Matthew 28:19
Righteousness
Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is our public commitment to seek God's righteousness.
“baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”Matthew 28:19
Excellence
We represent Christ with excellence in how we teach the Word and how we reach others.
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you”Matthew 28:20
Advocacy
The Holy Spirit moves us to witness for God's kingdom wherever we are.
“ye shall be witnesses unto me”Acts 1:8
Service
We serve the people of our community and beyond, whatever their circumstances.
“and unto the uttermost part of the earth”Acts 1:8
Come and see.
We would love to meet you this Sabbath.
